The “Beyond The Blockchain – Documentary” is a high-quality film project aimed at telling the story of Kaspa (KAS)—from its technology and team to the community behind it. Our goal is to create a compelling, feature-length documentary (up to 90 minutes) that appeals to both crypto enthusiasts and mainstream audiences, showcasing why Kaspa could be the next revolutionary blockchain technology.
-
While Kaspa has gained traction in the crypto space, we believe it deserves broader recognition that goes beyond traditional crypto circles. A well-produced & directed documentary can:
Reach mainstream audiences unfamiliar with blockchain.
Highlight Kaspa’s unique technological approach and community-driven ethos.
Increase global awareness and potential adoption of Kaspa.
-
The production will be led by a professional team with extensive experience in film, TV, and documentary projects:
Tim Wise – A seasoned journalist, multi award winning producer, and director with 30+ years of experience (including war cameraman and major mainstream tv shows).
Brett Hardy – An international documentary/TV filmmaker with credits on major US networks (CBS, ABC, NBC, HBO Max, Discovery Channel) and other global entertainment platforms.
Luke Gardiner – A technology evangelist, finance professional, and Kaspa Ambassador who brings industry knowledge and connects the production with the Kaspa community.
They will work in close collaboration with advisors from the Kaspa core team to ensure accurate representation of Kaspa’s story and technology.
-
We’ve set up a multi-sig wallet jointly controlled by the production team and the Kaspa treasury. Funds will be released in stages (milestones) corresponding to key phases of production:
Development (10%) – Research, scriptwriting, CREATIVE and pre-production setup.
Pre-Production (20%) – Detailed planning, crew mobilization, scheduling, and early partnership discussions with platforms like Netflix or Amazon.
Production (40%) – On-location filming, travel, insurances and core logistics.
Post-Production (20%) – Editing, sound design, visual effects, color grading, and music licensing.
Marketing & Delivery (10%) – Promotional activities, final distribution, festival submissions, and close-out.
-
We have four key funding milestones (each priced in Kaspa). Depending on how much we raise, different production outcomes are possible:
Goal 1 - 1M Kaspa:
Triggers: The creation of an Exclusive Interview 45 Minute package with Yonotan Sompolinsky filmed recently during his visit to Australia. This edit will be used for community consumption and will kick start dialogue with potential distributors and streaming platforms regarding the feature documentary.
Goal 2 - 6.5M Kaspa:
Enables the development of a 60 Minute documentary, to be created with a view to distribution through a premium entertainment platform or independent release with VIP regional premiers around the globe, in the event the target goal is not reached.
Target Goal - 8.5M Kaspa:
Provides adequate funding to produce a feature-length (90 Minute) documentary to be created with a view to distribution through a premium entertainment platform like Netflix/Amazon and the international film festival circuit.
Stretch Goal - 10M Kaspa:
Enables production of a feature-length documentary, Exclusive BTS, Extended technical interviews, and physical media distribution for all project backers. A limited-edition commemorative pack merch pack + VIP package for 2 to a regional screening for all backers who donate over 3000 Kaspa.
-
After the film is completed, the project backers will help decide the best distribution path:
Independent Release – A combination of online distribution (YouTube, social media), possible theatrical release, plus submissions to film festivals (Cannes, SxSW, etc.).
Commercial Release – If a commercial deal is secured (e.g., Netflix, Amazon), the film would be released on that platform with exclusive behind-the-scenes content and online promotions.
Note: Commercial release options are not guaranteed on tight timeframes, and the team will meet regularly to share updates on the optimal pathways, once distributor and platform feedback is received.
The independent path will be taken if a commercial deal is unable to be secured on the preferred timeframe and this pathway allows for greater editorial control.
In the event of commercial success, there will also be a plan to reinvest excess funds into the Kaspa development fund.

The executive producers will also supply each individual a reference stating they have helped on the documentary production (ie if they ever wanted to apply for a job in film or TV they can use the reference).
-
Absolutely. Each phase of the project has a clear budget allocation, including key personnel, production costs, travel, post-production, marketing, legal fees, and contingencies. The multi-sig wallet structure ensures funds are only released when specific production milestones are met.
-
The high-level schedule includes:
Development (3 weeks)
Pre-production (4 weeks)
Production & Principle Photography (6 weeks)
Post-Production (6 weeks)
Marketing & Close-Out (4 weeks)
In total, we aim for about four months of core production, although external factors such as funding speed, travel logistics, and interview availability can influence the timeline.
-
We will produce the best possible documentary within the funded goal range. For example, if we only reach 6.5M KAS, we’ll create a 60-minute documentary intended for online or potential premium distribution. If we surpass 8.5M KAS, we can aim for a feature-length production that may open more distribution opportunities.
-
